What is Astro Articulated?
AstroArticulated (AA) is an educational, student-run podcast/website which examines the astronomy and physics of science fiction novels and films with scientific experts and the creators of these works. Each episode looks at the accuracies and inaccuracies of each film/novel, as well as current theories in the physics community that are relevant to the specific phenomena and ideas found in these works of science fiction. Before each episode, a background for the film and/or novel is provided, as well as a brief introduction to our episode’s guest. Each episode's background is also found on the AstroArticulated website. The purpose of this initiative is to educate students about physics and science in an accessible way, specifically focusing on astrophysics concepts that may otherwise appear too intimidating to approach to the uninitiated. Through the discussion of legendary works of science fiction, AstroArticulated provides students of all ages with an opportunity to explore astrophysics - and science fiction - in an engaging and entertaining way!
